June 30     7 p.m.to 8 p.m.      STARS OVER HAMPDEN RESOURCE NIGHT
This is your chance to discover amazing things about the summer sky.  Entering grades 4 and up.  See also July 30.

July 1          2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.       MAGIC SHOW WITH ED POPIELARCZYCK
Back by popular demand.  Ed will entertain and amaze you.  All ages are invited.

July 8          2:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.     SOLAR SMORES AND CRAFTS

Did you know you can make delicious smores using just solar energy.  Come and see how and enjoy the results!  Ages 5 and up.

July 9          2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.     SHOOT FOR THE MOON BALLOON RACE
Build your own balloon rocket and see whose can go fastest.  Entering grade 5 and up.

July 15          11 a.m. - 12 p.m.     FINGERPAINTING FOR TODDLERS
It's a wonderful world when our youngest patrons discover the world of ooey-gooey colors.  Children up to age 3 are invited to express themselves through non-toxic finger paints.

July 15          2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.     SIDEWALK ART
Decorate the front walkway of the Town House using outdoor chalk and your own imagination.  Ages 3 and up.

July 17          10:45 a.m. - Noon      FIELD TRIP TO AMHERST COLLEGE PLANETARIUM
Exclusive showing for Hampden residents at the Amherst College Planetarium hosted by astronomer, Steven Sauter.
Ticket are required.  Contact the library to sign up.
 
July 23          6:45 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.      THE WONDERS OF WEATHER WITH ART HORN
Discover the power of thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards and other forms of wild weather.  Entering Grades 3 and up.
 
July 30          8 p.m. - 10 p.m.     STARS OVER HAMPDEN STARGAZING PARTY
Learn how to use telescopes and Sky Scouts to tell you all about the universe.  This program is supported in part by the Hampden Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.  Ages 10 and up.
 
August 5          2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.       MICHAEL'S SURPRISE SHOW
An entertaining show with puppets and storytelling designed to spark children's imaginations.  All ages are invited.
 
August 12          2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.     2009 FINAL PARTY
Join us for a final hurrah as we close out the 2009 Summer Reading Program.  Everyone is invited.
